뜯어보니 VRTHEME 방식이네요.
마켓에서 2.7.9 설치해서 정상동작 확인후
CWM 에서 플래싱하면 설치된 버전을 트윅하는 방식입니다.
스크립트가 data/app 에 설치된 유저앱을 시스템으로 옮기고
VRTHEME 방식으로 이미지와 XML 트윅하네요.
Alternative Install
Some users have problems with the above package. IT seems to be a 4.2.2+ issue. Try this file isntead:

- Install Google Search 2.7.9 from the Play Store (or via an apk from somewhere like AndroidPolice)
- Run it, make sure it works
- Download the above zip
- Flash
